REQUIREMENTS
ABILITY
Having experience hiking in variable terrain is important. However, if you’re used to walking in simpler terrain, you can still have a blast in the mountains. You will find it beneficial to warm up your legs, feet, and ankles for your hiking adventure by strengthening them with some basic strength exercises. While body strength is important, it is equally important to know your limits with regard to endurance. We are happy to discuss options to find the perfect hike for you.
FITNESS
Having endurance and strong ankles is key when hiking in the Alps. Having ‘mountain legs’ is a bonus! Our trips are designed with flexibility in mind to suit your abilities and will be catered to your fitness level. We guide tours that stay entirely in mellow terrain as well as tours with 1000m+ elevation gain, and we love them all the same! We make sure to maintain a pace that the whole group can enjoy.
EQUIPMENT
Hiking is an ancient hobby that hasn’t changed all that much in the last hundred years. You will need shoes with good tread and excellent ankle support. Additionally, you will need ample nutrition and water, an extra change of clothes (including thin gloves and a hat), sun-cream, and a light rain jacket. Light hiking poles are also recommended as they are excellent for maintaining balance and diverting some force from your legs. See our detailed equipment list for more information!
